Hi all,
I'm publishing this for sake of memory.
It's nothing finished here. It is just a gameplay concept that I've been working on over the past few months.
As I'm going to focus on wolfric, I need to pause this dev but I must admit that it is the most incredible project I've ever dreamt of.
I've gathered together:
- a 3D Castoric viewport in upper screen part
- a H3 canvas from the amazing Rax in bottom right
- a command line viewport in bottom left of the screen (That I reused from Castillo Belmar)
The next planed action was to add a text map from LaurentD75 and retroric.
https://github.com/retroric/CTextMovingMap/tree/master
to replace the 3D viewport for the moment the player is travelling.
As said earlier, it is not finished at all .. it is not even started .. But if you want to give a try, download the dsk below:
- Press a key when asked to
- Use arrow keys to navigate in the 3D scene
- Use letter keys to type in text in the prompt
- When Space key is pressed an animation is started in the 3D canvas.
The only interesting thing here is to witness:
Animated sprites in a 3D viewport + Animated sprite in the H3 canvas + responsive shell to pass command
Can you feel the threat ?
I'm not a gamer at all .. but I do think there are potentialities here.
What do you think of this type of game play ?
Does it ring a bell to you ?

Re: Gameplay mixing text and 3D
This is, frankly, amazing - well done! My Oric fanboy'ness is literally squealing inside at the joy of seeing such software on the Oric. Will boot this up on my Atmos soon and have a session that I can only describe as, pure pleasure.
Now to optimize those writes in wolfric ..
(PS - any way you could put these sources into a git repo, so contributions can be made in a sane fashion, perhaps ..?)

I think you can easily Imagine how heartbreaking it is to have to seek success, fame and easy money with wolfirc when there's such a ground for expression as this.
Just imagine this type of technology in the hand of someone who has ideas for an adventure game.
