Very impressive demo.
I like the music and I'm stunned by the graphics.
I can see that you hosted a file of your demo on site petergordon.co.uk .. Are you the famous Peter Gordon ? author of Oricutron ?
Who are the numerous contributors mentionned in this demo ? are they Oric demo makers ? are they sometime around here ?

Yes, I wrote oricutron.
The greetings page is mostly other demogroups, but very few of them are Oric demogroups. I'm part of IRIS which is an Amiga demogroup and my demoscene history is almost entirely based around the Amiga demoscene.
Glad you enjoyed the demo

Waou !!
Thank you so much for Oricutron !! And congratulation for such a marvel.
I spent so much time on your software that I could barely count.
I already wrote you an email to tell you how much I like this sofware.
I reiterate my most thankful congratulations for this masterpiece.
So powerful .. so useful.

The twirling boxes around the text in 3D with z-effect in front/behind is quite impressive (as the rest). I'm wondering how this one was done?
It seems, if one avoids scrolling, there is much less artifacts and there are more interesting things, as in this demo!

How the ***bleep**** did I miss this last year…. Amazing.
Must be because I was really busy June-November and basically did not touch much 8 bits in that period, and the Oric not at all (was actually the Loci that made me venture in Oric projects again instead of the C128 project I was stuck in because lack of time in June)

Re: His Masters Rasters by IRIS
It's quite simple to make the boxes go infront and behind. The edges are drawn, then attributes are used to stretch the colour to the other side of the screen. If the box is behind the text, set the background attribute to the box colour and the foreground attribute to white. If the box is in front, set both attributes the same.
The trick with oric effects, in my experience, is to think about how you can use attributes and work backwards to an effect you can do with them.It seems, if one avoids scrolling, there is much less artifacts and there are more interesting things, as in this demo!

Re: His Masters Rasters by IRIS
That's totally true and applies to everything Oric: That's why there are so few good ports of multiplatform games to the Oric, the architecture is very different, and a direct port will most of the time result in sub-par results... but if you start from looking at how the Oric work, you can come up with nice ideas that can result in some pretty good stuff

There will be another Oric demo at Nova this evening. Just a heads up in case you want to watch the stream later. I believe there will be a scenesat and a twitch stream.
