Just a question for specialists:

Is it worth doing this mod on ATMOS if there is no boot problem ?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Ok, I made this 63(b) mod and I cannot see any improvement in the boot process...

My ATMOS boots as before. The only issue is the boot screen itself: without this mod, I had a clean boot pattern and once the mod performed, I have garbage on my screen. :(

I will check more but I guess I will desolder all these unnecessary resistors sooner or later.

In short: It's not worth it. :)
This 63(b) mod maybe will help if there are real problems with boot. With working Oric it can make things worst.

I only hope this will be useful for other forum members...

Cheers.

Well I don't know what this mod is (don't bother explaining, I guess it's in the service manual, I just didn't bother checking as I have no knowledge in electronics), but yes it's been useful for me!
=> Now I understand why my very first Oric-1 has a nice boot pattern (checkerboard, sort of), and why others have garbage: I guess Oric applied this mod to more recent machines. I've been wondering why since I dicovered the garbage boot screen ;)
