I'm currently investigating the feasibility on the Oric of some programming method discussed on the MSX forums (MSX has the same soundchip as the oric). The two main things they are doing is: - Take into consideration the it takes to set a value in one of the particular registers of the YM to reduce...

Apparently if I understood the trick correctly, they have a fast spinning oscillator, and when they disable the oscillator mode it continues to spin but the last value is kept, so this can be used to generate a fine tuned volume control just by waiting a certain amount of time. That's indeed hard to...

In theory the Microdisc controller board accepts up to 4 disk drives in 3", 3.5", 5.25" (and I read somewhere 8" as well) formats.

So in theory yes that could be done.

BCD is a way of storing decimal numbers in 8 bit bytes and is supported by the 6502 processor [...] it makes it a lot easier and quicker to calculate and display scores. I don't think it changes anything to the calculation performance, but for displaying scores it's indeed a lot better because all ...

That's the rewarding thing with the Oric: It's much more difficult to get something nice, but when you manage, you know you did something that only few brave souls would have managed to do :)

Yeah I believe most people just had the new case + keyboard + rom replacement, they could not switch between the two roms.

Thanks, took some time and cleaning up (my telestrat has quite a lot of scratches on the plastic unfortunately), but in the end I guess it looks decently good :)

Since the game was released, would you mind releasing the source code on the SVN server?

If you want, I can also add a page for the game on defence-force along with games from Chema and Twilighte :)

Hi,
what's the status of the game?

Would you consider releasing the source code on the SVN server so it does not get lost if you suffer some computer problem?

Wikipedia

Hi. Today I took some photos of my Pravetz 8D and Oric Telestrat , uploaded the picture on Wikimedia Commons (with the full public domain licence so anyone can do whatever they want with these), and then I added the photos on the Oric Computers/Tangerine article of Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org...

Chema: If this was not an homage to the incredible work you did, I don't know what this Oldschool Gaming Game Of The Year Award is!

Well deserved congratulations!

I agree with continuing to post. If many people get aware that Retromaster is very near the completion stage for a new device that perfectly emulate a microdisc drive using sd cards to load virtual image disks, it may make it easier to get a kind of group order/build for a bunch of devices. Apparent...

You could also cheat with the perspective, and making sure that the base line of the foliage of the trees starts at the same position whatever the distance.
