The method explained in this site is very good, care with the firmware version!.

I don't know your hard disk model but if the electronic board is fried, I think you can try the next:

Buy a hard disk drive of same model, change the electronic boards, and you have your datas again available.

Then, L'Oric a nu is only a ROM disassembly or has more things about Oric hardware?.

I have my Atmos connected to Commodore 1084S and the 1902A no look different. in the 1084S the Horizontal Sync pin is valid for composite sync too.
