Re: Cumulus Issues

This has reminded me of a modification that Dave Wilkin came up with for the Microdisc.
Would this be of any use???

Re: Spot the Oric ..

If you go, they do a guided tour which is well worth going on as they explain things a lot better then if you wonder around yourself. When I went round there was a lady in our group who used to work there, which made it all a lot more real. Some of the buildings are still as they were since they wer...

Re: Disk Images with Tape Files

The Rhetoric disks are to be put on oric.org to make them available for all. I prefer if these and OUM disks have the instructions/ details with them, but I know once they are out there that may be lost. The archive seemed to focus on tape images as they were originally released. Apart from the few ...

Re: Disk Images with Tape Files

The Rhetoric disks are being put on oric.org. Several disks have a menu system you can adapt to your own use. Hopefully I've attached a disk image which is a compilation of IJK titles. I have another 2 of these. PM me your email if you want the other two. You can get dsk versions of games like ZipnZ...

Re: Geoff Phillips interview

I think there was an advert for Boulderdash which said it would be available for the Oric. Another one that never appeared was War of the Worlds. Based around the Jeff Wayne musical version adverts appeared saying there would be an Oric version. I'm not sure if the game was ever programmed. I think ...

Re: Spot the Oric ..

Bletchly Park houses a great collection of computers which I've visited. I was going to go with Twi but he was ill that day. He did go to a performance by Jim Cuomo there some years ago. The computers on the wire racks are just on display. Round the side they have a number of working computers which...

Re: Hebdogiciel

There was some mention of an Australian Oric User group in OUM, I think. We didn't know much about it or if they produced a fanzine. I wonder if it was you group that they knew of(?) Some of the early groups seemed to focus on getting access to tapes, in one form or another. Even here in the UK it w...

Re: Hebdogiciel

Interesting stuff. I think Jean Boilaeu transferred all the Hebdo. programs, but I don't see a copier in my files. Do you remember what it was called? I used to use BDDISK for tape transfers once I had a disk system - even when putting back to tape. It meant I had a backup. Still havent' managed to ...

Re: Atmos logo sticker missing

atmoslogo2.jpg I think you've done a good job. I was trying to scan an actual logo label but the texture gets in the way of the scan. I was trying to edit the image to improve it but you guys have already done better. Only comment to make is that the red stripe appear to be slightly less red on the...

Re: Oric Atmos from scratch

I do have a lot of Oric boards sitting around. They have sockets and some chips fitted but could easily be stripped down.

If anyone wants some boards to play with, let me know.

Re: Oric Atmos from scratch

Neat job. I have a lot of trouble desoldering neatly. I've just ordered a new soldering iron. Maybe a need a new noozle for my solder sucker?
I find the copper track can lift off. I tried desoldering braid but that made a mess of the board and didn't suck up the solder very well.

Think I owed you a favor. Glad it arrived OK.

(I'll dig out a Manic Minor - if I can find it.)
