Interview...

Hi, I found the source code and as I'm a little bit paranoid, I take the joke for myself :) I hope that this interview of the author will help you understand the design, which start with coding a running man... http://www.mayhem64.co.uk/interview/caswell.htm Don't forget to read also the overview an...

OSX

Hi, I've compiled your emulator under OSX but it failed to load the rom. It is due to the fact that fopen() does not work on OSX like on Unix for example. I found a way of handling this issue but didn't get the time to make it work. (I used xcode not the makefile) When Oriculator don't find the rom ...

1541 ultimate

Hi,

Don't know if it was already posted but the 1541 ultimate for C64 does that, among others things, emulate a real 1541. The software is now open source, but I frankly don't know if the code could be used for an Oric equivalent.

Re: Space 1999 - Intro sequence

Cette vidéo a été supprimée pour infraction aux conditions d'utilisation. I was looking for things on you tube, and noticed that there was a number of different intros sequences. In particular the season 2 seems more dynamic, less "cheesy", and probably easier to redo on the Oric :) http:/...

Focus

Hi, Well I think that Chema is doing a really good job doing a game like Elite, a better Elite for the Oric, so I think that we should support its work. I don't think that asking for any others similar game is productive :) No offence here, there's not many coders on the Oric out there, so we should...

Re: Elite Source code

>I was thinking on how Pinder had to remove the sources and binaries when >David Braven asked him to do so when mentioned the copyright issues :( I don't know why but I was on an Elite mood years ago and found out about Pinder's work, I was like you wanting to do a port for the Oric, I donwloaded th...

Re: Elite Source code

Hi Chema, Why not borrow ideas from sequels to Elite games. Check for instance the work done on glfrontier. As for copyright issues every versions I know of Elite are based on the reverse engineering work done by Christian Pinder (Elite the New Kind) so its already biased. http://www.tomatarium.pwp....

Re: Elite Source code

Sure I will ! I remember back then reading the C64 manual of Elite, a story was included and a planet was mentionned named Raxxla (if I recall correctly). We were navigating where the planet should have been approximatively with the indication written in the manual. We never found it, some month ago...

Epyx games...

Hi, I'm in C64 mood for some times now and I love Epyx because they made the best sprite animation and some really cool games. While reading C64 news and found a link about Epyx and last but not least 2 Epyx games for Apple 2 (weird :) and you know what the source code is provided ! Now the best for...

So you loved KnightLore

Hi Guys, I too remember the first time I saw KnightLore, awesome, too bad it was on a Spectrum as I owned an Oric 1 (I still do). So if one day you wanna port it to the Oric or others games, here's a link where you can find the data formats of many Spectrum games including KnightLore and Alien8, plu...

Lode Runner and resolution problems (280 vs 240)

Hi, For now I'll stick to the original resolution, that way I'll not have to redo the code. Its a problem because I'll have 40 pixels missing in action, Fabrice you spoke about doing a horizontal scroll, it might be an option...but its again more code to add :( I'll try to have a look at the MSX dat...
