Even with my moderate español, I doubt it'd be good enough for a text adventure
Stiill, good to see new software being released especially with the production quality. Wonder why they used The Quill though? It's great but it has limitations.

Monitor or TV?
I can finally go outside and buy stuff. Hoping to get a nice monitor for my Atmos but I'm doing it via this cable which I know many of us use: https://www.ebay.es/itm/Oric-1-Atmos-High-Quality-RGB-Powered-Scart-Lead-Video-Cable-TV-Lead-/251137727260 Now, it requires SCART connection but the sales du...

Re: John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
This is all so reminiscent of the 80's, when we Oric fankids would get upset over a poor magazine review, or a low rating for the Oric in general on the basis of the crappiness of a majority of the games.. Agreed. I suggest we stop discussing that topic, some of us think all things Oric is good wha...

Re: John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
Seriously, life is too short to get wound up over someone's reviews. They aren't reviews. They demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge of what he's looking at. He can't be bothered to do any research. He doesn't know what an Oric is. He just fumbles around and let's you know whether he likes the e...

Stephen Haigh
I don't know if Stephen Haigh (author of Green X Road, Attack of the Cybermen and more) has been tracked down before but he's posted today in this vid. Fear not, people - it's not a John Gage review :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yl2l-mf69ow ETA: Seems Stephen still has his Oric-1 and Atmos! I'v...

Re: Sell me a data recorder! Price no object!
Are you still wanting a cassette player? I could get hold of one and post it. (We're able to get couriers to come and collect stuff. ) I do. I've managed to get a lappy working as a replacement recorder but I'd still love to get a data recorder to add to the options. Andy/Baz is also on the hunt an...

Re: John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
Steve, I don't think you should watch any more of his videos if they wind you up so much. He never claims to be a great player - quite the opposite, in fact. I'll decide for myself whether to 'encourage' him to review more Oric stuff. Seriously, life is too short to get wound up over someone's revie...

Re: John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
The Oric coverage is coming thick and fast. Not down to me this time but we have a 20+ minute review of Blake's 7.

Re: John Gage reviews Damsel In Distress!
I haven't watched this yet. It's a 12 minute video so looks like he spent a bit of time on it.

Re: Sell me a data recorder! Price no object!
BTW, had issues with Oricutron. It seemed to load fine but then crashed on the intro screen. Not sure why. Have loaded up Zorgon's Revenue which works perfectly and had lots of fun watching the wife playing it for ages, getting frustrated and addicted

Re: Sell me a data recorder! Price no object!
Bloody hell. That took some working out. For some reason, the MS DOS RUN prompt (on my XP machine) couldn't locate anything in folders with a space in the name so I had to move it all to the C: drive and nowhere else. As I type, I've got the Oricium WAV file nicely loading up on my Atmos, ready for ...
