I hope I will be in good shape back from holidays, full of energy to finish the intro. I have to admit I've not been coding anything at home for monthes, because I'm a bit burned by worked currently.

Hoping that 3 weeks vacations in france will give me the force I need :)

Looks like it's doable:

You can probably put the RGB pins of the oric cable to the corresponding amstrad monitor pins :)

It's hard to know without knowing two factors:
- voltage/ampers
- +/- orientation

I never got sinclair machines, so I've absolutely no idea about that.

Always nice to see new people :)

Feel welcome here, it's quite low traffic to be honnest, but it has a number of advantages compared to the mailing list, you read when you want, you can post pictures, executables etc... without fearing antivirus-spam programs to overreact :)

"Print at" is one of the view differences between the Oric 1 and Oric Atmos BASIC. It's actually quite buggy, and there are many way to get it to fail, but it exists :)

Here are some tricks for you: You can get rid of the blinking cursor and the click click of the keyboard by doing POKE #26A,10 The bits in #26A define a number of things: - 0 -> Cursor visible or not - 1 -> Video output enabled or not (software only) - 3 -> Key-click enabled or not - 4 -> Store if t...

PING and ZAP are blocking sounds: If you write PING:PING:ZAP:PING:ZAP:PING you will clearly hear the succession of pings and zaps. And the program is blocked during that time. SHOOT and EXPLODE are non blocking, so if you write: SHOOT:EXPLODE:EXPLODE:SHOOT:EXPLODE it will just sound like an explosion

I feel I am really late into this thread, but I have just run the demo from the first post and I am totally blown away. Well done to Chema for this. It's developments like this that truly help keep the Oric community going. Does it mean you run the demo of White+Noise or have you run the demo of Sp...

Two know more about colors on the Oric, I can advise you to read this document:

http://www.defence-force.org/download/c ... nglish.txt

After reading it, you should understand easily that PAPER just set the value "16+color" in column 0, and INK set the value "color" in column 1.

You can easily create graphics by using reconfigurable characters, in the last OSDK version, the version of PictConv can output a picture in the form of BASIC lines of DATA. So if you create your graphics as let's say a vertical band of 6x8 pixels characters, it will create a file with lines of DATA...

Is the IRC chatroom still being used? Yep, and we even have bots now, so there is less problem getting op, or kicking out squatters :) The lack of activity recently was mostly due to the fact that Twilighte is relocating to Finland, and on my side I got a lot of hardware problems (like no net for 3...

What do txt2bas and bas2txt do? I notice when I use Notepad (I have Windows, by the way), it saves the files in txt mode, so would it take the file and then convert it into a bas file? How would I make a .bas file into a playable .tap file on my Oric emulator (Euphoric)? Remember, I am very new wit...
