Re: My old PRAVETZ 8D (ORIC ATMOS)

What would be required to have a working system where you basically boot on a custom rom with whatever you want in it, like a menu, small utilities, etc... and a way to either launch normally on Oric BASIC 1.1 or boot on the floppy drive?

Re: My old PRAVETZ 8D (ORIC ATMOS)

I like the double reset idea, I always wanted to have an easy way to swap between multiple differents ROMs, like the standard Oric rom, and one with utility programs that could be used to break into a game, dump data, examine memory, etc... :)

Re: dflat language update

Loading dflat from a DSK as a replacement rom is trivial, you can do that from FloppyBuilder or Sedoric, it's really just a case of loading a 16KB file somewhere in memory and copying it to overlay memory. The issue is how to access the disk after that, I guess you could have some "file system" modu...

Re: dflat language update

I'm not a Sedoric expert, far from it, people like André Cheramy and Symoon are much more knowledgeable. All I know is that the system is "bank" based, so Sedoric is made of multiple modules that are loaded on demand, so technically it's probably possible to build dflat is blocks that could be autom...

Re: OSDK 1.18

I committed the fix and pushed the new version on both locations (not really a problem if people keep the previous version because the define is not used anywhere, but at least it's fixed for next time).

Thanks :)

OSDK 1.18

This version 1.18 contains all the changes required to use the new Joystick sample, including a big fix in the C Compiler regarding the placement of inline assembler statements. As usual, the OSDK is available on the download page at http://www.osdk.org/index.php?page=download but you can now also g...

Re: Wolfenstein / DOOM for Oric : has this been done?

To catch this type of thing, really nothing beats pressing F2 to enter the debugger, and then look at the memory content ("m address") at the locations you are wondering what the heck happens.

Re: OUM magazine scans...

I added the index file to https://www.defence-force.org/computing ... ermonthly/
Now the question is: Should I make the files actually visible/crawlable?

I don't remember why it was not done, was it that we were waiting for the authorization of Dave or something?

Re: OPEL Software for the Oric

Except there's a bug in the C compiler that places the assembly code statement in the wrong place. I made a hack in the code to get that working, but I'm waiting for Fabrice to suggest a proper fix :)
