Re: looking for a pixel flood fill routine

It is not exactly a flood fill function but at paragraph 7.6 in the attached chapter of the geffer book, there's an assembly routine to fast draw a shape. (...) Based on the parameters, that looks like a routine that just copy some existing graphic data to the screen, like a sprite routine. A bit f...

Re: looking for a pixel flood fill routine

Yes it seems so. There are tables with values of individual pixels on or off, being checked one by one, and I'm currently looking at the actual filling routine (before that, there was the system to find the places to fill on screen according to the displayed room in the game). Having very little spa...

Re: looking for a pixel flood fill routine

I'm far from it, still busy following the code, trying to identify all the subroutines and so on ;)

Re: looking for a pixel flood fill routine

I've begun investigating Le Retour du Dr Genuis, the fill code is using a king of specific stack if I understand correctly (I'm in the middle of checking the code). Maybe it's just designed to work with simple surfaces, I suspect using a stack on complicated filling zones could indeed fill... The me...

Re: Adventure Games and Solutions, Help needed !

Apparently it was transferred by Patrice in 2014 (his archive also has a WAV file, just in case you might encounter TAP transfer problems Dom, we will be able to investigate thanks to the WAV file).

Re: looking for a pixel flood fill routine

This is an interesting subject. I'm a noob regarding the subject but I wonder: do fill algorithms on Oric take advantage of what I would call "byte structure" of the Hires screen? I mean, if a byte equals $64, it can be completely filled without checking neighborhood (might not be as simple as that ...

Re: little sound demo

Thanks for the Warhawk link!
Interesting comments pointing the fact the Rob "borrowed" this one from John Keating - The Unknown Planet (1975).

I'm pretty sure a (chiptune indeed) version was available for Oric using some MYM player (blurry memory, that was long ago).

Approx weight: 1.2Kg, so here are the French post office costs:
- France: 9.15 € or 13.90€ Outre-Mer
- European Union: 18.05 € (UK add 3€ because of Brexit)
- Eastern Europe (outside EU and Russia), Norway and North Africa: 25.05 €
- Rest of the world: 42.95 €

Giving away faulty tape player

Hi, I'm giving away the following tape player. Rewind works fine, but fast forward and play only work if there's no tape in the player! I opened it, apparently there's no belt, so maybe the gears are tired or badly positionned. The counter blet has melted. The tape is in Amiens, France. Can be picke...

Re: Another one 10 lines competition.

Congratulations!
Are you actually preparing a new Oric book? Something like "20 pages, 40 games" ;)

EDIT: the competition page doesn't list clearly for which computer each program was. There are two other Oric entries at least, another by Rax (Tentlantis), and another by 6502Nerd (Bomber)

Re: spec

It's apparently the result of a disk made with GAMEINIT tool. It can be found on Sedoric 3 disk for instance.
But don't ask me more about its origin, I have no idea!

EDIT: it seems it was on the original Sedoric release, someone would have to take a look at the manual (my spare time is up for today!)

Re: joystick

If you're talking of the interface, yes I do have this one ;)
I wondered how it worked, but thanks to Steve we got some instructions!
