I've used a slightly different approach, the "can't miss it!" button :)

This works fantastic on my Oric Atmos and the box colour coding is great. Transforms my use of my Oric.

I'm wondering why I can't get it to work on my Oric-1 with 1.1 ROM as it won't boot with the erebus plugged in. The reset button on the erebus results in a different tone on the speaker when pressed but doesn't reset the machine.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Solved!. Sort of

I had an Idea. I transferred my atmos 1.1 rom to my oric 1 and the erebus works fine on the oric 1 now so its the 1.1 rom I wrote which must be the issue. I used a M27128A eprom. Anyone had any issues with these?

It is due to the EPROM chip. Erebus, as Microdisc, disables the ROM using the Chip Enable pin, which in EPROMs is used to program them, so it does not work.

There is a mod to solve that.

Hi,

Erebus is working fine now I've grounded the Chip Enable pin but the Oric wont boot with Erebus disconnected. Is there a way around this?

The schematic is good. If the IC11 empty socket is used with a 74LS00 chip , LK removed, pin number 12 cut from A13 to be connected to Romdis pin and pin27 of eprom diconnected, the Oric computer will run with a 27c128 memory that could be desactivated with known intefaces.
Ps: The other possibility, remove the eprom chip and put a little pcb on the rom socket, this one will embed the logic chip 74ls00 and the uvprom, to avoid the injuries of the pcb tracks

Thanks for your replies. I'd prefer not to cut tracks so I'll develop a piggy back socket mod.
