Atmos Keyboard Problems

If you want to ask questions about how the machine works, peculiar details, the differences between models, here it is !
How to program the oric hardware (VIA, FDC, ...) is also welcome.

Atmos Keyboard Problems

Post by AndyGarton »

Hi all, I have a couple of issues, one on each of my Atmos's:

1. First keyboard doesn't work at all - it's actually not the keyboard itself though, but whatever controls it on the main board - because I switched the keyboards around and both work, but only with one of the main boards. Is there a particular component or components I should look to replace/repair on the main board to fix this please?

2. On one of the keyboards the number '1' key doesn't respond at all (all other keys are fine). I've tried tapping away at it repeatedly without success. How exactly do I clean and/or repair this please?

Thanks,
Andy

Ok, embarrassment time - I "fixed" the first problem by connecting the keyboard to the main board properly, bizarrely I'd not noticed that there are more holes in the connector than pins on the board, so I shifted across by one and I have a fully working keyboard :)
