OSDK 0.017

Post by Dbug »

Edit: Link fixed, please people next time TELL ME WHEN IT'S BROKEN

Biggest update of the OSDK in years... (unfortunately)

Version 0.017 - February the 12th 2010
- Added taptap.exe in the bin folder.
- Added a 256 bytes assembler sample demo.
- Updated Xa.exe.
- Updated tap2dsk.exe.
- Updated Link65.exe - it accepts now up to 10000 labels instead of 2000.
- Updated FilePack.
- Updated PictConv.
- Updated MemMap.
- Updated Bas2Tap - it can now add colors to comments.
- Modified make.bat to make it work with the new disk building system.
- Modified osdk_euphoric.bat to restore the current directory on exit.
- Fixed the build scripts for some of the samples, that pointed on the wrong location for data files.
- Fixed lib.h, peek/poke/deek/doke should now work correctly.
- Removed the Visual Studio project files from the sample.

You can get this version 0.017 here:
http://osdk.defence-force.org/files/osdk_0_017.zip

Give me feedback please, I need to know if I did not break anything.
Also it would be nice if BASIC programmers could give a try !

I strongly advice you to install it on the side of version 0.016, just change your OSDK variable to point to the new folder, and if anything happens to not work, please signal the issue here, and continue to use the version 0.016 instead.

Thanks !

Great Dbug! Thanks... at last a new version...

However, you will go "argh" for sure, as I have problems when compiling the shipdemo program.

It seems to have problems with the files in the oobj3d folder. It says "assembling oobj3d/whatever.S" but the systems gives an error of not finding the file.

However I can compile 1337, which also has the same subfolder...

The only real difference I see is that shipdemo has C code... otherwise...

Cheers

This is fantastic - my only gripe is, as a 100% Linux user, I'd love to have native versions of these tools and if there is a way to understand why the dependency on Windows, I'd sure like to know .. other than that, great! Downloading it now and will do what I can to get it working in WINE ..

There is no particular will of keeping it Windows Only.

To have the OSDK fully portable, I need to:
- Find a way to get Wascols tools portable (he is using Delphi)
- Replace Euphoric by Oricutron
- Find something to replace my batch files while keeping it easy to use and not requiring to install more stuff on windows
- Have a way to easily rebuild both Linux and Windows versions of the SDK from the same machine using the same tool chain.

I guess I could have .SH scripts on Linux and .BAT on windows...

For the problem with the ship test, I fixed it yesterday evening, but could not send you the new version, my smtp server was apparently down.

It's a great job that you've done.

PS : I'm a fan of this portable application. :)
