A bit old, but thought somebody might be interested... though the price is madness. It is a pity prices for these old machines is so high... and there is already a bid :(

That price is bananas. Still, its nice to see such a complete system out there - I'd love to have this rig, honestly.

I bet the condition of the box will attract other computer collectors - not just Oric users. This one may end up on a shelf somewhere, which is a shame.

I did think about bidding but I can't even get the Telestrat to work on. Oricutron.

This is happening in all the retro scene with rare computers. This prices make it impossible for most users who would, in fact, use the system, acquire one.

Oh, and btw I am quite sure that the Telestrat emulation is broken in Oricutron.

It does make me wonder how much a boxed Microdisc PSU would be worth. I've not seen them for sale and I don't see a boxed PSU in that collection either. Sadly I don't have a boxed Microdisc to go with it.

Telestrat emulation is broken in current Oricutron. But it works here with the last version of the oricutron source code.

If you want a working windows binary, you can get this binary in this zip archive :

http://orix.oric.org/lib/exe/fetch.php? ... ix_0_3.zip

It works, because i use it to code Orix.

There is a memory leak in this version, the binary could crash after some hours (don't replace this binary with your binary but you can rename it).

Real madness, indeed!
Let's hope the Telestrat is in good hands or in museum (the buyer is obviously a serious collector) and more people can at least look this beauty.

Honestly, its such a thing of beauty to those of us who know what a Telestrat is, and as well the Microdisc, that I hope it gets put into someones hands who ends up *using* the thing and not just sitting on a shelf, appreciating value. I would dearly love to use this rig as a daily-drive Oric setup, personally..

But, by the condition of the box and its contents and the extraordinary high price granted, it is clearly going to be very, very well taken care of .. so even if it does just sit there on a shelf, maybe some day in the very, very distant future, it gets unboxed and used and the Oric spirit lives on.

Like, maybe this one will last until 2100 or so ..
