Hi there
I would like to use my HxC flashed Gotek with my newly acquired Oric 1 and have been struggling to find any software in .dsk format. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
I have looked on the Oric.org site but can only find .tap files.
Thanks in advance..
.dsk files for Oric 1
Re: .dsk files for Oric 1
Hi and congratulations for your Oric 1!
First the bad news. There is no complete compilation of games in dsk images. And even worse, some games refuse to work from disk.
The good news is that most good and modern games are available in dsk format and that many others can be converted easily using tap2dsk. This matter was discussed here http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopi ... =23&t=1114
Tap2dsk can be downloaded here https://github.com/norayr/oric-tools/tr ... doric_tool you also need old2mfm which can be downloaded from the same repository in some other folder.
Some modern games in dsk format can be obtained here http://www.defence-force.com/index?page=games
Good for a start, I hope

Thanks Chema, much appreciated. I'll take a look at these links tomorrow.
Just carried out a simple mod to divert audio through my external speakers rather than having to put up with being deafened by the overly loud internal beast!
Also spent some time creating WAVs with tap2wav and found a .bat file that let's you carry out batch conversions rather than having to convert files one by one (I replaced tap2cd with tap2wav) http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopi ... =19&t=1006
On the hunt for a joystick interface/adapter now..

Additionally you can download Gamebase Oric V3.0 (thanks to dave3622) - there are 133 dsk's in sub-directories.

Hello,
There are several dsk files on oric.org but you'll have to search them manually, there no solution to search them globally. It'll be a great update to the site.
If you've transfered some dsk files in hfe format, please send me couples (dsk - hfe) and i'll upgrade oric.org with your contribution.
