Re Oric Explorer 0.7

In this forum you can write about anything that does not fit in other forums.
This includes generic Oric talkings and things that are totaly unrelated but want to share with people here :)

Hello,

Oric Explorer 0.7 does anybody use this?

Tried on 4 machines 2 with win7 and 2 with xp

Just get unhandled exception error " index was outside the bounds of the array"

Program runs starts to scan for files then throws an exception error

Click cancel and you can navigate the program but do nothing

Regards

No problem here with XP and the geat Oric Explorer.
The only weak point (no offense intended!) of Oric Explorer is that it tends to crash when there's a faulty TAP or DSK file in the target directories.
EDIT: self correcting what I said: the exception, by clicking on "continue", often doesn't prevent from working with the correct files. :D (except the file scanning stopped at the crashing file)

Try running it with empty directories, then add one by one the files you want to check and refresh Oric Explorer.
If it crashes it means the file you just added is not standard (ie protected or contains errors or whatever).

Hi guys.

Only just found this thread.

Glad you managed to get Oric Explorer working John. The tape handling code in that version isn't the best to be honest. However, just for everyone's info I'm currently working on Oric Explorer V2.0 with the little spare time that I have to do any development. Hopefully I'll have something that people can try in the next 3 to 4 weeks so that I can get some useful feedback.

Cheers

It does but it's "silent": just select your text (CTRL A for all), CTRL C, then you can paste it into another program.

Hello Yicker

I just sent an email saying that if you need help, I can try to make subroutines and other things, I am new to the forum, but I have experience from other teams,

I see these improving li, that is good news, we'll be waiting your news
