Re: Spot the Oric ..
Nope. Where is it?
Re: Spot the Oric ..
I could be mistaken but about 23 seconds in there is what looks like an Oric-1 on the shelf to the right of the screen, bottom left hand side.

Wow! That could be indeed an Oric 1... Seems so nice find!
And incredible sight, I wouldn't have seen it without the red arrow!

Bletchly Park houses a great collection of computers which I've visited. I was going to go with Twi but he was ill that day. He did go to a performance by Jim Cuomo there some years ago.
The computers on the wire racks are just on display. Round the side they have a number of working computers which you can have a go on.
Oric gets a fair mention on the big printed boards you can see.
It's well worth a visit to this place which also houses the enigma machines and the decoding engines, called bombes.
Interest in the site is growing with the knowledge of how it was the birthplace of computer and the programmes and films about Alan Turing.

Re: Spot the Oric ..
We (my Austrian family and I) recently watched the Imitation Game about Turing and co., and it was really fun to hear the reaction of my folks who had no idea that such things were going on, had no idea who Turing was and why he was important, and so on .. a great history lesson indeed, and I'm really happy to hear that Bletchley park has gotten the attention it deserves lately. If only they'd wire up a few Oric's for playing with though!
(Its on one of my places to visit when I get to the UK some time..)

My Projects: Replic'Oric Project - StratoCumulus Project
Re: Spot the Oric ..
If you go, they do a guided tour which is well worth going on as they explain things a lot better then if you wonder around yourself.
When I went round there was a lady in our group who used to work there, which made it all a lot more real.
Some of the buildings are still as they were since they were closed off after the war. It can have quite an atmosphere. My cousin was involved in a project that captured sound and photos of the buildings before renovation.

It gets very busy now with all the recent attention.
