So, this week end I was at the Kindergarden demo party. This edition was their 20th anniversary so I decided to enter the oldskool compo with a small Oric demo on this theme.

You can get it on Pouet at http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=64343 (there's the link to a youtube capture on the top right of the page)

I will upload the source code on the SVN depot later.

and now, going to take a shower and crash in my bed for a couple hours :)

Amazing demo! It's really exciting how you find ideas for new graphics effects.
I like it and I want more ;).

Just watched the video and I really like the demo! It is amazing how you keep improving your work Dbug. I like the subtle raster effects and the overall design very much.

Definitely an excellent work!

Really nice :)

My technical question of the day, most of the demo use the text mode right?

(no nothing about the song)

Fabulous demo, and as ever: very refreshing to see these sorts of things being done on the Oric after all these years. When you think about what you did and what things were like back in 'the day', its pretty clear that our little platform only suffered neglect. It was quite capable of doing a lot of great things..

I liked it :D
I know it's only 8 colors but it looks like more. What tool was used for the Music?

From what I've saw the music is a standard YM translated to MYM (and it come from an Atari ST demo)

Actually no, it's all in HIRES, the only TEXT part is what is in the three lines of text at the bottom.

As Godzil wrote, it's indeed a music from an Atari ST demo (Decade Demo from The Inner Circle), converted to the MYM format.

You can see how it's converted in the project code: http://miniserve.getmyip.com/svn/public ... os/Zerofx/

It's converted with Ym2Mym and then replayed with the Mym player.

Format that I used for my Yamaha+Arduino player %) (much easier to use than plain YM)
