Re: New Os and sdcard/usb key reader
How are you going to address the USB port? I fear you underestimate the difficulty for that. Don't expect to have a driver on the oric itself for that, it will not be possible. I see a chinese chip CH376. Thats a bit of cheating but ok Hello, The chip manage USB mouse, Joystick, keyboard etc, but i...

Re: Yet Another
I wrote my first emulator on a laptop with something like a Pentium 133 as the main CPU so please don't complain with your highly powered computer... ;-) Good work with the latest release :) I suspect I may have had a Pentium 200 in mine but my point was more: I can't just throw on a Linux virtual ...

Re: Oric 1 and Atmos - repair help needed
4 Volt on NMI is a bit low (it should be ~5V), but high enough to be seen as a logic high weird, especially considering how NMI is connected in the Oric.
When you press the "RESET" button, does Pin6/NMI goes to 0? and if you move, without push, the reset button, does the voltage change?

Re: "music" in Xenon meteors noise
Obviously an emulator will miss the analog part (filter & so on) that are not impossible to emulate but really time consuming to get something accurate.. Mine has a filter; it creates a wave at the chip's clock rate then performs a windowing filter to reduce it to your computer's sampling rate....

Re: Oric 1 and Atmos - repair help needed
The Atmos has the usual pattern. The Oric 1 has one I don't remember having seen, but it was certainly the one for the first Oric-1s. You can mimic this behavior by changing the ram pattern entry in the configuration file in Oricutron. It was related to the memory being used or the circuitry or som...

Re: Oric 1 and Atmos - repair help needed
Why do you say that Godzil? Honest question from me trying to learn something :) If the 6502 gets stuck due to malfunction you'll continue seeing those strips on screen as the ULA is using the memory contents before the ROM actually fills the memory with some value (writes/reads $AA and $55 to ever...

Re: Oric 1 and Atmos - repair help needed
For me, the 6502 is perfectly working as we have a test ram pattern on screen.
Does the 6522 gets hot?

Re: Barbitoric has incorrect CRCs?
I tested both images with Microdisk controller and HxC drive - both work fine. I'll try to make real floppy disk with Writedisk soon, but looking at sources of Writedisk and Writedisk2 - they use BIOS int 13h to write sector-by-sector and this BIOS interrupt requires as input only data buffer with ...

Re: Track reading (Sedoric / FDC)
Hum? I'm quite tired so my mind is not working well, but don't forget that what is written on the disk will not match the data you read/write. You are not doing the FM/MFM conversion in the software, it is done by the FDC, and the "missing clock bit" is for data you send to the FDC, not da...

Re: "music" in Xenon meteors noise
I think it should be fairly easy to test, with enough sample to found the way the random is generated, just configure the channel to random, let it play for a long time and store the waveform, then convert that waveform for each output level, and with time you will get a repetition, and from that po...

If it stay on the ram test pattern, it's probably the 6522 or the AY-3-8910

Re: When does the AY reload its counters?
I would say that the AY will re-get the values from the registers on each external clock edge. What would probably happen is that the timer is not reset but will use the new parameters. I think it can be tested by using maybe a slower clock (even if a sub 50Mhz scope would be enough) and do the test...
