Re: Blake's 7 feedback and review thread

I'm stuck also. Tried every option with the technician, but he sends me away.

There are not many options left for things to try. Is there an object I should be carrying?

I'm hoping to find a large mallet so I can sort out that technician and the freaky nurse.

Re: Question regarding floppies

I've got two 5.25 but hardly ever used them. I can't recall if they are double sided.

I'm not sure if the original Oric Microdisc was single or double sided, but I think later ones were double.

Re: Question regarding floppies

I think I have double sided 3" but I prefer to use 3.5".

3" disks are hard to find now or are a bit expensive.

If you have single sided drives isn't it possible to put the main program on A and then any further levels etc on side B ?

Re: Sedoric 4.0

That's what I was thinking. It makes it a bit less useful with all the different keyboard layout files hidden away in different directories so you can't load any of them up with INIST.

I guess I'll need to learn how to use it.

Re: Full Telestrat in Ebay

It does make me wonder how much a boxed Microdisc PSU would be worth. I've not seen them for sale and I don't see a boxed PSU in that collection either. Sadly I don't have a boxed Microdisc to go with it.

Re: Full Telestrat in Ebay

I bet the condition of the box will attract other computer collectors - not just Oric users. This one may end up on a shelf somewhere, which is a shame.

I did think about bidding but I can't even get the Telestrat to work on. Oricutron.

Re: Sedoric 4.0

What I'm struggling with is how to load something from a folder/directory from the main one. Is that possible? You might want to load at bootup, or have a HIRES screen loader that loads from files stored in the subdirectory. Can that be done.

Re: Sedoric 4.0

Thanks. The language thing seems to be working now. It keeps booting to the English version I'm finding the structure difficult to get to grips with. I like to setup the old function key layout so put that in the INIST command but it doesn't work because the file is hidden away in a subfolder. I sha...

Re: Sedoric 4.0

I've been playing around with Sed4 - very interesting. It'll take some getting used to these folders. I can go 'forwards' into folders - not sure how to go back out ? The boot screen looks like you can change language as it boots. But it seems not.(?) It's nice having these folders but may make thin...

Re: Progress bar loading

Feedback appreciated. For instance, do we really need the start/end boundaries? Their management takes about 12% of the code - nothing wrong with this version, but it could be saved for further ones. Great stuff - downloading now. I think you need an end boundary so you can see how much progress ha...

Re: Progress bar loading

Yeah. I like the loading used by the Electron which loaded in blocks and it said on screen which block was loading. If one part failed you could go back and try loading that again without having to redo the whole lot. It would be handy to know how much is left to load - i.e a countdown rather than a...

Re: Progress bar loading

Oh. Come to think of it, I'm not sure if/when I've loaded a tape from the HIRES screen.

I guess it would be more useful on the text screen(?) as you can see the progress of the HIRES picture being loaded.

Re: Progress bar loading

Interesting idea. It doesn't say Searching or Loading on the status bar so why not put the display up there out of the way of the main screen ?
