Re: Wurlde - Game Development Forum
The problem here, I think, is that I doubt Wurdle existed as anything more than a set of experiments, failed attempts and small ideas of different approaches and game mechanics. Putting all that together with a story will be a nightmare. But maybe I missed some info here.. OType, on the other hand, ...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter
This is getting most impressive...
I like the fade routine... are you loading the graphics directly from disk (with unpacking, etc.)? I wonder if it could be speed up a bit (just curious )

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter
It is nice to hear you are still working on this... and how you are improving this game is incredible!
I am glad you are also experimenting with the Twilighte mask idea... I guess it works much better for big graphics, or does it also do a fair job for small sprites?

Re: Real Time 3D example
That looks very nice! I wonder if some semi-graphics could be used instead of the default ROM character set. Maybe defining some patterns to aid in the visuals as you did with the background galaxies and planets. Also dynamic redefinition could add animations or things like that. Awesome demo, congr...

Re: Free Petscii Robots for the Oric-1 / Atmos
Also, I'm willing to bet that when this game makes it to the big archives of "all oric games", the documentation will be missing, because that's what people zipping games do: Remove all the stuff which is not just the game. Indeed. That is why I always recommend people to go to oric.org. ...

Re: Floppy boot sequence ?
But it would be great if somewhere here would make a great floppy builder library that not only is able to read data from within a program, but also to save data from the program to the disk. I made some modifications for Blake's 7 so the game could save the progress. You can check in the game sour...

Re: Alternatives for Cumana Reborn?
The only real alternative is the Microdisc clone card that is being built by Silicebit. However, he builds them by hand and on his (scarce) free time, so patience is a must. Maybe he could share the files once he finishes building his last batch (whenever that is)? I have one of those and they work ...

Re: Floppy boot sequence ?
Fabrice Frances once told me about the mystery of the EPROM looking for those files. He said The Microdisc and Cumana don't really boot either, the eprom contains an incomplete version of OricDOS 0.6. So they already know both the filesystem structure of OricDos and the record-based files of OricDos...
