Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)
Normally Oricutron uses SDL ver.:1.2, but for porting it to Android we needed to use SDL ver.:2.0 as result there are 2 binaries respectively for both SDL versions. I'll check what can be the source of the difference between both audio captures.

Re: Jasmin time
Here attached is the DSK image used in the read/write test. Now the next annoyance is why the reading with polling is OK but the writing always fails with error status 0x04 - LOST DATA, which means writing loop is late to supply next byte. The strange thing here is that the code is exactly the same ...

Re: Jasmin time
Well, good news! Jasmin reads tracks error free with polling : https://youtu.be/FAOmyCZPgXc Jasmin reads tracks with polling and writes them back with IRQ - error free! https://youtu.be/sf9br3g_C0Q After spending lot of time with the annoying errors (bad status read from the FDC if video related mem...

Re: New Guy here from USA
Welcome @OricSociety! IMO the best source to buy an Oric is eBay. The common price for "just the computer" (with/without original power supply) is around 50-60 USD, but if you want the original packaging (even in not so good condition) it can jump up to 200+ USD! This is because of the ret...

Re: Clock Signal — an Oric emulator for macOS and Linux
@ThomH : Amazing work :!: Here some thoughts: - BD500 - it works, but if you type just after boot screen command "DIR" then it lists first part of filenames and waits for key, if you wait more (i.e. 10 sec) and press key then an error is issued : ?Drive Error . It looks like there is kind...

Re: ULA versions
From an old post: 7x or 8x after CDI is probably the chip revision, (or batch), the last 4 numbers are YYWW with YY the two last digit of the year and the next two the week of manufacturing: 8422 will be 1984, Week 22. The first in your list is probably a typo? Here is " The big Oric ULA Databa...

I run it with DosBox under Linux: cd euphoric dosbox -conf euphoric.conf This is everything that I know and hav...

Re: Sedoric's TAKE command, help required...
About the buffers you can protect them from BASIC with HIMEM#ADDRESS where ADDRESS is set just bellow the buffers. But this is bit ugly and it's possible that your program goes 'OUT OF MEMORY'. Well, it would be very helpful if someone with more knowledge in Sedoric internals shares how to set the b...

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator
I have an idea for more universal "floppy switcher" but so far I didn't found a good looking solution (not electrically but the out-look only). Else using toggle switches is nice and very effective. For instance like this one - the link is just an example. I think the name is something lik...

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator
Great! I totally share your opinions about LCD/OLED, buttons, etc.
Additionally I drill a hole for the red LED and bend it like the green one - it blinks nicely by write operations and I don't see reason to leave it hidden inside the box.

Re: Gotek USB floppy emulator
Hey guys, it's not so complex! :) First Jean-François DEL NERO released commercially HxC hardware replacement for floppy drives which runs with closed source HxC firmware , using new image format HFE . The author released free as open source a library and a tool to convert different already existing...

Re: I2C for the Oric
This is crazy cool ... and working! Nice!
On your question: IMO, there should be no problem to use the Parallel port as I2C, but it depends how "Oric compatible" the whole thing should to be.

Cool! You managed before my post! Congrats. :) But anyway, attached is fresh compiled latest firmware which I'm using: FF_Gotek-v3.11a. In the ZIP file is my FF.CFG it can be used as start template for hacking :). Interesting are following "sections": # Floppy-drive interface mode # shugar...

Re: Oriclopedia: A series of videos on all things Oric
Regarding the machines, I will have to wait for the diagnostic cartridge from Vyper, but what I can tell you is that the motherboard uses 2 memory chips (tms4464-15nl) instead of the usual 8, and nowhere is written "Designed by Tangerine Computer Systems Ltd" (but there is a "ORIC 1&...
