Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

Cumana used the 8877 chips - I have lots of them. There's a sight difference. A couple of external components required, I think.

Re: Arena 3000 and emulators

Works for me. I have one version that seems to work with Oric-1 ROM. The other works with Atmos ROM. Both seem to work OK.

See if this file works any different to yours.

Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

I have the Cumana interface circuit boards (from Steve Hopps).
Just need to solder them together!
I 've got most of the components but work on soldering has stalled due to lack of time. And I'm not that great at electronics.

Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

Sounds good. Do you know anyone with info on the cable/ interface? I know someone over on Facebook that has BD but no cable. At least one of mine is faulty. If anyone had circuit diagram we might be able to recreate one. I believe Jeremy at the BDUG had problems building hybrids. I don't know what h...

Re: What is this Oric model in an auction?

I think the disk drive is a Cumana one put in a larger case to house the drives.
The switch looks like the one on Cumana interfaces.

Re: Improved "The Hobbit"

I remember the movement of Gandalf in the game being annoying. In some places I think you needed him to do something for you and he'd keep wandering off. Doesn't this happen when you get locked up in a cell? Seems a bit illogical that he can wander off when you are trapped.

Re: Adventure Games and Solutions, Help needed !

I haven't looked into how to convert formats yet, but can I take it from what you're saying that it's possible to convert any program in .tap format to .dsk format? How about programs on tape that were multi-part? Some progs are harder than others. Basic programs are easier. You will need to alter ...

Re: Worth of Oric Atmos packet

Oric disks on the right of the picture in branded packaging - which is interesting. I don't recall seeing that before. It's a shame there is no Microdisc PSU. It'd be worth a good amount if it could be shown to be working. Without the power supply it needs someone that already has a PSU - but it sho...

Re: Adventure Games and Solutions, Help needed !

Yes, Pinforic is disk based. Those adventures were never available for Oric, so it's a recent achievement to be able to have a program that allows them to work on the Oric. Oric as a disk-based system is a great improvement. I much prefer it though the old cassette programs had to be converted. For ...

Re: Philips D6260 K7 deck bulk repair

Another untested and cosmetically challenged one in UK . It's not worth paying for somethign like that IMHO. There are other better ones about - though the asking price is often a bit steep. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324987838178?hash=item4baac8dee2:g:oqAAAOSwnc1h3Ghx Wait for one to turn up at th...
