Re: [ATHANOR] New Adventure Game on Oric1/Atmos
Nice! One thing is that, though I like the capitals, I find this font quite difficult to read. Dunno if this could be an issue for a text adventure game. Or maybe it is just me. It's definitely the easiest font to read, but my point was mostly on the visual impact of having a custom font vs using t...

There you go:
And what the font looks like: Thanks to Maximus for the wav files.
Load it in $B400 if you are in TEXT mode, or $9800 if you are already in HIRES (add +1024 if you want to use ALT mode instead of STD)And what the font looks like: Thanks to Maximus for the wav files.

Re: [ATHANOR] New Adventure Game on Oric1/Atmos
The game is not on Oric.org, if somebody has it I could probably extract the font.Atlantis wrote:@Dbug : I agree. Do you know if it's possible to find a .bin file for the custom character font ?

Re: [ATHANOR] New Adventure Game on Oric1/Atmos
Now that I see the screenshots, I wonder if your game would not benefit from having a custom character font instead of the system one
One possibility, the font used in the game Montségur:

Re: MOON ADVENTURE
I Haven't thought up a name for this yet but this will be a disk-based game set on the moon. Hmm, disk-based game set on the moon... what about Space:1999 :D I've got to learn about how to do the disk-based stuff but for starters here is an example of the sort of images I hope to include (overlaid ...

Thanks, happy new year to you too, hopping that 2014 will be a much better year than 2013 which for many of us had a bitter taste.

Re: The Return of Viking Chess (Hnefatafl)
Still struggling with one or two minor issues but I think the next stage is to glue the loader and main prog into one wav file. I'm thinking TAP2WAV for each tap file then somehow append the wav files together? will need to add a cload to the loader. Any thoughts? copy /b loader.tap+game.tap nhefat...

Re: Cumulus Preorder Thre
Really excited about getting one of these now it seems the final issues have been resolved, great work everybody involved, it's much appreciated :) Is it the kind of setup that would allow some menu software running on the Oric which allows "automatic" loading of a DSK image? I'm imaginin...

Re: Noisy Atmos
Mine do that but only during the boot sequence when the memory is filled with the black and white band patterns, after that it gets silent.

Re: Cumulus Preorder Thread
Damn, I just got my PICKit2 set up today .. ah well, glad to hear it got sorted out! :) You can still do some testing and make sure it all works fine for you as well :) Could you try to remove the sdcard or wiggle it while the update is in progress and make sure that you can't reach a point where t...

Re: Cumulus Preorder Thread
Looks like Boris found the final firmware update bug, so as far as I know the last blocker before he can send the cards has been solved
Stay tuned for more updates.

Re: The Return of Viking Chess (Hnefatafl)
I'm desperately trying to finish this game so I can release it in this anniversary year. The few quirks have turned out to be major issues...I'm simplifying some over-complex routines and going back to the roots of the game (a collection of simple rules combining to produce complex behaviour). Frus...

Re: Microdisc replacement project
I will perhaps say something stupid, but when I see the code something really annoys me: As far as I can see, the CUMULUS.BIN file is loaded sector by sector with the firmware erase and update being done at the same time for each sector. Is it because there's not enough memory? Personally I would ha...
