New tape loading speed - testers needed!
Hi there, I'm working on a tool called TAP2F16 for ".TAP to Fast *1.6 speed". The tool produces a 44kHz WAV file that, you guessed it, runs around 1,6 times faster than original tapes. That means for instance that a program loading in 5mins will now load in 3mins. You may wonder "why?...

Re: 6522 - VIA
Thanks a lot! It was written clearly but I never found it in the doc, my bad :-/ Now thanks to tests I found that resetting timer 2 low-byte is achieved by putting FF in the high-byte of the counter. Oh well, newbie ranting I suppose - that thing seems magical but it probably takes quite a while to ...

6522 - VIA
I'm starting this topic about the 6522, which as I'm a hardware lamer, always seems complicated for me to understand even with its data sheet. Ok, so: I'm reading the IFR byte to check if there was a signal transition on CB1. The question is: does reading it automatically reset the flag, or do I hav...

Re: writing disk images for a real Oric
A piece of advice about using TAP2WAV: - use the switches -11 (11kHz signal) and -a (adds a silence at the end) - switch off any wifi thing on the PC that reads the WAV file - keep your mobile phone away This should solve about 90% of the loading problems ;) About disks, try the excellent Romu's pag...

Re: Interested people in controller Microdisc or AmpliBus.
Normally, if you haven't other disk controller (original Microdisc or Cumana board), i send two disks as starting kit, one with Sedoric 3.0 and another one with very good game, but not very well known, Magnetix. Very nice from you. Actually, this is not my first controller so I had disks already - ...

Hi there: Silicebit, I finally went home and everything seems perfect! As ISS ponited, excellent packaging, even with two floppies! I probably won't have time to test before some time, but thanks indeed ;) By the way, I still have your drive Symoon, I will try to have it for the fall Visu, I'll kee...

Re: Oric programs statistics
I forgot something in my statistics... The datas are made of 60% (or so) of zeroes, but... The datas are loaded with parity, start and stop bits in the signal. And there are 3 stop bits at "1" for only 1 start bit at "0", which makes 75% of "1"... So in the end, I'm not...

A pause key could solve the ringing phone problem
Or a choice like "what did you just say?" to repeat.

Re: OASIS development
If you are good at drawing, I will also need images for objects and sketches for some rooms. Designing a room is not easy, as there are many details and quirks to consider, but the initial sketch is of great help for me. For objects it is enough to edit them in a bmp/png/whatever file, using pure g...
