Re: Photocopies
Is it from my pages or another source? I think there is a page or two missing from the modifications listed at the back. There's 63b but now 63 or 63a IIRC. I have some similar pages that must have been sent out prior to the proper service manual. Not sure if there would be a Telestrat service manua...

Re: system disk message
When you format a disk it can be made as a system disk with the code to do all the necessary DOS operations, or it can be a data disk which doesn't have the extra information. This was done as there isn't a lot of room on a 3" disk and most Oric disks systems were 3" originally. I mostly u...

Re: English Translation of HyperBasic need
Just been trying to look through my files - I can't get Oricutron to run as a Telestrat. (anyone else have this problem?) I looked through Euphoric and find two different Hyperbas ROMs but I can't run Euphoric to check whether either of these is in English. Can someone that uses Euphoric have a look...

Re: English Translation of HyperBasic need
In that case I don't see why there would be an English version. The English market had dried up for Oric. Maybe Fabrice was refering to the English manual???

Re: English Translation of HyperBasic need
The Telestrat was originally the Stratos in the UK. I'm not sure if HyperBasic came out then, but if it did it would probably be in English. The Telestrat that Jim has came from Brian Kidd and is supposed to be a Stratos. It has HyperBasic cartridge but I'm not sure whether they came with it or are ...

Re: Euphoric vs Oricutron
I use Euphoric on the old PC system that has DOS as it reads and writes floppies - at least the tools do. I was more used to Euphoric and I seem to remember it emulating the MCP40 which was nice. If I need to transfer things I have to crank up an old PC so Euphoric works. I don't recall if I have tr...

There's a translation of the manual.

If there's an English version the only person I know of that might have it is Jim Groom. H

Re: Pinball Wizard
Oh - I thought Pinball Wizard would be different to Macadam Bumper, but it does look basically the same. Macadam Bumper sounds a bit more American to me.
So is Accolade the parent company of Ere ? And then it was Infogrames. Did Infogrames buy Accolade or vice versa?

Pinball Wizard
Was there ever a game called Pinball Wizard for the Oric? It is mentioned here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accolade_(company) I wonder if it was called something else on the Oric or if it wasn't released (???) EDIT. The last bracket gets missed of the link for some reason. Add it on to get the ri...

I can't remember if I put my name down for this but would be interested if there is one available.

It's a long time since I did the interview. He seemed easy enough to talk to. He was in touch via email and I sent him the questions to reply as he wished. I have his email address still but not sure if it is still valid.

Here's an option. http://www.mutant-caterpillar.co.uk/sho ... kut3oomn43
Only £35 to fix an Oric. Seems like a good deal. The amount of time you can spend and the amount you pay for spare chips, it seems like the best option. Bring the Oric back to life.

Re: Oric 1 and Atmos - repair help needed - EDIT: Oric 1 wor
My RAM chips don't feel warm. As these chips tend to want replacing and you seem to have spares it might be worth removing them and fitting sockets and putting a fresh set in. Did you go through the test procedure here? http://oric.signal11.org.uk/html/repairguide.htm If the 6502 and 6522 are OK and...
