STRATSED
What is the last release of STRATSED (DOS for TELESTRAT)? There are STRATSED2.0a, STRATSED2.0b, STRATSED2.0ca. I saw somewhere in the forum (but I do not remember exactly where), a picture of a screen boot with 'STRATSED2.0E'. I will upload that picture here when I find it. Found on oric.org (Forum ...

Video output without SCART/RGB
Hi,
end of 2014, manufacturers will no longer have to integrate in their devices SCART ...
What will be the best video output for our ORIC from RGB?
Is it possible to build a small interface without having to buy an expensive converter?

Re: Cumulus Issues
Maybe? With the 'probe jig', and the demo file 'PushingTheEnvelope', when I remove the probe, the system is working some seconds (about 2 to 5) then crash.Dbug wrote:So, could it be a problem with timings in the Cumulus firmware when overlay is switched on/off?

Re: Cumulus Issues
This is clearly not a good sign, may mean there is a ground fault somewhere. You should do a ground check to verify that there is no too high resistance between two (or more) ground point. Does it do the same if you touch pin 2 (Data In) (Pin 14 is Data Out) Faulty DRAM with probe alone (1Mohm||18p...

Re: Cumulus Issues
Only chance? I do not think so, because IC12 is D7 (bit 7), and D7 is a little bit special on Microdisc. This line can be driven, and maybe the Cumulus is 'more severe' than Microdisc (Cumulus schematic quickly examined but did not saw a specific problem). So, could it be a problem with timings in ...

Re: Cumulus Issues
About DRAM, I can tell you that, my rams were changed few years ago. Maybe that is the problem.. Hi, found a very interesting thing tonight. Perhaps it can solve your problem. My third unit is fixed: cumulus_compatibility_update3.png Yet another DRAM changed, but I noticed on the 2 previous repairs...

Re: Cumulus Issues
This DRAM thing is quite interesting... Maybe at least we found one source of problems? are the specs of those DRAMs different from original Oric RAM chips? What are these specs :) (I do not know exactly: 4164-150 ns?). On the 12V PSU, I'm no expert in this field, but as far as I know the voltage r...

Oric unit #10 is now fixed. Same problem as #7: 1 DRAM changed: cumulus_compatibility_update2.png Remember: before DRAM change, unit worked fine in standalone mode... Re: Cumulus Issues
I guess the good thing is that we have at least now a large consistent baseline: The cumulus devices are almost identical (apart the two different display controllers), use the same components, built by the same person, and running the same code. The only differences are on the Oric side; which is ...
