Re: OType

Ok, I found back the disk with Impossible Mission tune, not exactly the same and playing slower. Two questions: 1- where do I post it? .../... 2- I also made a mp3 of the tune, with a fake stereo (simply created by a little delay between left annd right channels). Anyone interested? That's great, t...

Re: OType

Do you want to turn your Oric into a synthesiser, and never use it for anything else? :P. Because this is how we get synthesisers. :) No, I'll keep my Oric for games and programming :D But now that you mention synthetisers, I actually have a bunch of AY/YM chips and I alread built a circuit similar...

Re: OType

Twilighte did wonders with the Oric's AY... Pity we don't have the information about how he did those things. He experimented with many many different techniques. One of them was adding 'colour' to the notes by using the Envelope generator at certain frequencies. Unfortunately, that means no volume...

Re: And the CEO ?

Same for me... I'll be on hols in Crete till the 16th, returning in the evening... :? :(

It would be great if the meeting could be rescheduled on the 23rd or the 30th... I asked on forums.oric.org, but I doubt it will be possible, though there's nothing wrong in asking !!!

Re: Microdisc in ebay

You guys are rignt, actually... While I think such prices are still exaggerated, thinking in terms of "usage price" helps put it in perspective to other costs... And effectively, you can also consider that you will probably be able to regain some or all of your costs if you resell the actu...

Re: oric advanced user guide is still available

Thanks Steve for your input! I was myself surprised the Library would allow sending full prints but I thought maybe because the book is old it is permitted... But you're probably right, there must be a limit to how much of the book you're allowed to copy... Anyway, good news for everyone.... I actua...

Re: oric advanced user guide is still available

Thanks DBug for the enquiry! The book is indeed listed in the British Library's main catalogue: Explore the British Library - oric advanced user guide It appears to be possible to order a digital or print copy: - click on the "I want this" tab below the book details - then click on the &qu...

Re: Blake's 7 - French version / Version française

Glad to hear that... Maybe I underestimate the difficulty of the first episode ? I thought it was quite easy... and most testers thought the same too. Well, contrary to testers, I remember having a really tough time with Episode 1 as well !! And more generally speaking I did not find it to be an &q...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

The problem I have with videos is they take a long time to watch and you generally don't get the associated "materials" to take away (code, documentation, etc.). But that's only my personal opinion of course, some people prefer watching stuff other like me prefer reading stuff. Well, ever...

Re: new with oric atmos

Hi Miguel, Are you trying to load WAV files you found on some site, or WAV file you sampled yourself from cassettes (tapes) ? Some Orics (like mine) can be quite picky/sensitive to the signal... I myselfhad many problems when trying to load files sampled at 11 kHz, and I had much better results with...

Re: Oric Explorer v2.0 is up for adoption!!!

Thanks for the input, it's good news then if it can build on macOS and Linux! I was unaware that Mono allowed compatibility for GUI applications I thought it only catered for Console apps, like .Net core ! So thanks for clarifying this, as I said I know little about .Net especially about the latest ...

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

HI DBug, I watched the first two episodes of this "Pimp My Game" Youtube series of yours, and found them really interesting though I personally would just prefer articles as I'm more the "reading type" than the "watching type" for this kind of thing. The problem I have ...
