Re: Fast scrolling game howto, anyone?
Just wanted to let you know, Chema, that I'm monitoring your progress very, very closely, because I simply can't wait to see this game on my Atmos some day. Just know you've got fans!

Re: Cumulus Issues
1100mA should be enough, but for the record my power supply is 1200mA, and it definitely doesn't need to warm up first. This goes for both my Cumulus/Atmos setup; I have two - one for the kids, one for me..
Could it also be an issue with your Cumulus, maybe?

Sample Group 01-39 by Twilighte (PD).dsk
Hiya Oric'ians! Does anyone know much about the aforementioned demo of sample-playback, by our dear Twilighte? Try as I might my google-fu turns up doperom and other such links to this very file .. but knowing Twi, he may have written up more details about this somewhere. Now that we have amazing .D...

Re: The Return of Viking Chess (Hnefatafl)
Wow, I really like this game! I've been playing it on my Atmos for 10 minutes, and I'm really impressed at how smooth you've made the interface feel .. somehow you've captured a great feeling with the flow of this game .. well done! I'm going to have to learn how to better play!

Re: Oric Atmos in FPGA
I've been thinking of ways to cram an Oric into an FPGA *on* the Cumulus board. The case is just too Atmos'y for me not to have that impulse ..

Re: Cumulus Issues
Your power supply needs to be at *least* 1A when you're using it to power the Oric/Atmos with the Cumulus plugged in. I ran into similar issues as you did, but when I moved to a power supply that provided 1.2A, everything smoothed out - and I was able to play 1337 and Space:1999 without any hassle w...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation
peacer: the .DSK file that the cumulus mounts is presented to the Oric as a complete 'virtual disk'. The Oric can save files "into" that virtual disk, as the .DSK file itself is just like a floppy image. But the Oric cannot save 'outside' the .DSK file - if you save a file on the Oric, int...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation
I got the firmware built and flashed it last night - so I'm ready to start contributing to adding features to cumulus. One of the first things I'd like is to have some options, such as: 1) configurable 'auto-mount if it exists' option. The user can select a .DSK file, and in the menu option for that...

Re: The Return of Viking Chess (Hnefatafl)
CONGRATULATIONS! That must feel really, really nice, eh? I have to admit that the Cumulus has me dreaming of having the time to go home and hack on Oric ..

Re: Cumulus Issues
Oh, the first thing my kids did was school me on the number of games in the Oric collection "that don't have enough pixels in them" .. ;) So its been a wild ride watching all these new hi-res games hit the scene, because every time you guys make a nice release with fancy non-text-line grap...

Re: Cumulus Issues
I've been through 5 Atmos' and an Oric-1 so far. Two of the Atmos won't boot with it inserted, or indeed without it inserted either (yikes). 3 Atmos work with it - one, however, sometimes 'glitches out', is the best way to describe it. Doesn't seem to do it without cumulus attached. The Oric-1 seems...

Re: Cumulus Firware Compilation
How do we talk to the PIC from the Oric - i.e. cload"s",dosomething .. to load up 'next / prev dsk file' or things like that? Would be nice to auto-load SEDORIC.DSK if its there .. And I now find myself in the position of wanting to get as much onboard dev tools as possible, now that the O...

Re: Microdisc replacement project
Just want to pop in and say: Cumulus kicks ass! I got mine working this evening - there is no true joy than to be able to switch disks so darned conveniently! I can't wait until we work out a way for the Oric to mount .dsks' by sending commands to the Cumulus somehow .. with this power, our little O...
