Re: Oric Atmos Manual in English
Surprising high-quality scan, with mostly usable copy-pastable sections :) (There's the usual "l" vs "1" mistakes, but it does not really matter as long as it's readable) Nice job, I will try to get it on the Oric Library at http://www.defence-force.org/computing/oric/library/lib...

Re: Fast scrolling game howto, anyone?
The second question, when am I going to detect it? I think the user needs time to plug the Vsync cable after loading the game, so I guess I need to print a message such as "Plug the VSync cable if you have one and press a key". Then, after the keypress, perform the detection. If no Vsync ...

Re: Cumulus Preorder Thread
Will it work with Pravetz-8D? The Pravetz has been so far about as compatible as the common Oric Atmos or Oric 1 (Standard Microdisc units work fine on the Pravetz), so technically I don't see why Cumulus would not work on it; that being said some of the issues reported on some of the Oric models h...

Re: Oric Kong 2013
I am right now reading Bob Pape's "It's Behind you". It seems like fraud in IT business was a common practice back in those days :) Anyway, I think that what we are all trying to do by Oricing these days is a nostalgic contact with our early youth. Nostalgia is of course a part of it, but...

Re: Fast scrolling game howto, anyone?
Next bits in my TODO list are implementing the volume setting (which works when setting the variable through the debugger, but still need to code the user interface for that), and adding some more small tunes and the missing sound effects. Suggestion: Also implement a "pause" key, which c...

Future plans for Defence Force
Don't worry, it's a big title but I'm not announcing I'm leaving the scene :) Basically, these few last months I had problems with a number of parts of my infrastructure, and funnily enough most was related to the parts that are not in my direct control: The service offered by Yahoo! Small Business ...

Re: Problem with the linker ?
It is creazy, in fact I got two bug I have post this thread, The sta (fp)+1 you corrected, and the NE0W_C thing . The NE0W_C appears when I put "main" in lowaercase, not in uppercase in the osdk_config.dat file. Can you reproduce this behavior ? I tried, still worked fine. Which operating...

Service issues
If you tried to connect earlier to the forum you may had issues, the reason is that my router kind of died so I had to replace it, and after I was done with the setup it decided to upgrade the firmware and to lose the config :p Hopefully it should be working fine, but I will be monitoring it to see ...

Re: Looking for Dsk2Tap (or similar) tool
Thanks
I guess there's no tool that exist to extract from a DSK a bunch of files specified by their sector/track/length.
I may just have to add an 'extract' option to the FloppyBuilder

Re: Fixing the Oric Giga Demo
And more good news, I managed to locate the original picture used on the poster scroll, did a naive conversion with the Img2Oric mode, looks much better already :) poster-240x320-f6.png The source picture was 540x720, I reduced it to 240x320, and then had to fix PictConv because the Img2Oric algorit...
