Re: I’ve done it again !

I think it's on one of the OUM disks. There's a cheat version as well.

Re: Sedoric rights

Dr Ray did Sedoric 1.7 through to 2.1. In those days it was shareware and anyone that registered got updates. Sedoric used to be sent out with a cassette insert for Krillys to validate it being on the disk. Registered users got the manual by Jon Haworth and Allan Whitaker (who ran Oric Enthusiasts &...

Re: Game Instructions

Lothlorien doesn't seem to have any extra files for the strategy games I looked at.

I guess it will be at some point but I'll have to get the paperwork scanned.

Re: Is BD-DOS lost to time?

I have a ByteDrive. Actually a pair with documentation. I did bid on that manual shown above but got outbid. I have a lot of information to go through but havent' had the time to even unpack the ByteDrives. I might just sell them on as I'm not getting the opportunity to look at it properly and don't...

Re: missing titles

There are various football management games. Football Manager, The Boss, European Cup, Soccer Manager, League Soccer, League Champions. Most of these are available. A couple of them are on the Rhetoric disks. Alistair Way did an animated football game. Oddly I can't find a French football game. You'...

Re: missing titles

Technically speaking, Oric titles are covered by copyright. I think it lasts 70 years now - after the death of the author. A lot of authors have given permission for titles to be available now online. Other authors weren't named so it's impossible to contact them and some can't be traced due to them...

Re: List of official Oric software & games

My list has been up for years, pre-dating Oric.org. So there's a few mistakes and omissions but it can be updated if you load it into your own database. The Csv version is probably best for this. I used to have MS Works so used that to generate these files - but that won't load on my current Windows...

Re: eBay game prices

Manic Miner wasn't that rare, but the problem is everybody seem to want it - even people that don't have an Oric. Some of the rare games had few sold so they have become expensive, as Dbug says. They often aren't good. It's hard to put a price on things with the crazy Ebay prices. I know some people...

Re: Best Newbie Book for Learning Basic on Oric Atmos?

The original Oric-1 came initially with little details so a lot of Oric-1 guides cropped up. Oric produced an Oric-1 manual and then a larger one, so the need for all the alternatives like Ian Sinclair's book were a bit obsolete. The full Oric-1 manual is OK. The Atmos manual is considered to be bet...

Re: Diagnostic cartridges?

Well the diagnostic ROM can be used without the additional board. You just swap the Oric ROM for it and boot up. I think Richie (Vyper) on the AtariWorld forum made one for himself and he'd probably be willing to build you one. I think they need a few boards to make it worthwhile getting the boards ...

Is that a French Atmos? No modulator!

The ROM is also the later one - not sure if that makes any difference?

Re: Sedoric 'utility' wanted...

I think there was a utility to mark bad sectors, but I think it needs a good area for the DIR menu. Sometimes it's the DIR menu that gets messed. I think if the other sectors are OK you can copy some good files over to a good disk. Tools like BDDISK and Nibble may be able to help identify bad parts ...

Re: Erebus Batch November 2019

My tapes folder is 12Mb. With some files that aren't .Tap files and some in folders that I didn't include. I did go and reduce all the filenames down to 8 letters. So I think there should be sufficient room. I'll need to go and have another look and see if I can get more on there. There are a lot of...
