Re: Modern Software Packaging

After the packaging itself, I decided to do some test with the floppy labels, knowing that my main target is 3" floppies... but trying to see how it would look if you tried to put these labels on 3.5" ones. Here is what that looks like (simulated) 3inch_label_on_3.5inch_floppy.jpg My first batch of ...

Re: CC65 to DSK

Regarding music, it's a complicated topic. Accessing the YM chip is not very complicated, so doing sound effects and stuff like that is not very difficult, the problem with music is that all we have are either tools from Twilighte (that few people know how to use), the STSound -> MYM player which is...

Re: OSDK 1.14 RC

By the way, any news regarding the floating point issues I mentioned in http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1945#p19302 ? It was in the original post: bug fixes for float to int conversions, etc... Your last post on the other thread was on the April 13, which is the same day as when ...

Re: OSDK 1.14 RC

I can confirm that last update in compiler works for me - no more problems with compilation found yet. @Dbug: can you check one of your demos: http://miniserve.defence-force.org/svn/users/dbug/demos/Cube/ It works by me with old compiler, but not with the new one - after 3-4 frames the cube is draw...

Re: OSDK 1.14 RC

Fabrice asked me to thank ISS for the discovery of the bug, adding that "the actual issue was in defstring, not in defconst). The new RC is available at http://www.osdk.org/files/osdk_1_14_rc2.zip and the source code has been submitted on SVN. Regarding Chema's original question, there was actually ...

Re: Oric on VGA monitors

Hi Chema A circle on the Oricutron is 3.4"x3.4"...1:1, the same program generates a circle 8.3"x6.5"...~4:3 on the VEGA screen which is 7:4. I must say I am unable to think of a reason. Is the synch rates from the output socket different to those used for the RF output do you know? Well, most emula...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

Could you briefly explain what a "trimmer" is in this context? I assume it's not related to cutting branches on trees or making one's facial hair looking nice :D

Re: OType

Oki, so the scroll step is two lines because AIC uses one paper/color combination for the even lines and another for the odd ones. This said, if one is willing to also copy the color attributes at the left side of the play field, then it becomes possible to only scroll by one line. The problem is t...

One conclusion here:
Any device which need to work with the RAM Overlay with any Oric should allow adjustment of the MAP signal (period).
Is that maybe what the Microdisc RV1 is for?

Re: CC65 to DSK

Thats a visually interesting result.

Do you think in the final version you will be able to reduce (or suppress) the flickering around the cars?

Re: TIMETRON2019 exhibit at Subotron Hub, MQ Vienna Austria

Sounds cool.

Regarding recommendations, I guess it would be interesting to maybe show side by side some old and new software, like "Pulsoids" compared to one of the original breakout games from Tansoft, IJK or PSS?

Re: Exact procedure for committing changes to the OSDK on SVN.

My only concern though is that if even after discussion, I (or anyone) submit something that you like in principle but do not like implementation-wise, then this will have to be reverted after the fact. I.e., there is no pre-review of the code. Where did you see that? If it's as I said "not relevan...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

11KB/s with full broadcast mode, that's kind of cool :)

I guess I will have to come up with some additional PictConv modes optimized to support split rendering or multi-color.

Re: Exact procedure for committing changes to the OSDK on SVN.

I don't think the process is cast is stone, and so far has been highly dependent of the type of changes. The priorities are to make it as simple for everybody, keep things reliable, and avoid having too many people having too many different versions so things get impossible to diagnose. On my side, ...
