Re: OSDK 1.13

Any reason why you want to use Euphoric instead of Oricutron?
Both are present in the OSDK, the default behavior is to call Oricutron mostly because it's the most practical to use on a modern machine.

Re: OSDK 1.13

The OSDK is not DOS compliant because it is WIN32 applications, they run fine on 32 bit and 64 bit Windows, as well as in Linux using Wine. Why do you want to use DosBox? The main reason for having switched the main emulator of the OSDK from Euphoric to Oricutron was that Euphoric was not running on...

Re: Port Crazee Rider?

Well, you could disassemble the game, or trace the code in Oricutron's debugger :)

Re: Retro-computing devroom at FOSDEM (CfP)

Your last year presentation was interesting :) I'm generally not lacking ideas, what I lack is free time, but feel free to poke in the following topics: - Unix on the Oric (Jede's Orix project) - Project Exos (Multiple Oric connected as one single machine) - The impact of knowledge, emulation, cross...

I've posted a follow up article on the same topic, with some concrete example of how to optimize code:

Re: List for Microdisc controller + Amplibus, LAST BATCH.

I think the confusion is that there are two threads, and people did not get any answer on that one, I can lock one of the topic and point to another one, just confirm me which one.

Re: C/ASM profiling tools?

Since the topic has gotten some attention, I decided to spend a bit of time writing a blog post about it: http://osdk.org/index.php?page=articles&ref=ART11 If you are interested, the code of the "racing game" prototype with the integrated profiler is on the SVN depot: http://miniserve.defence-force....

Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

Question to the Oricutron people :) The current "Official" version is still 1.2, dated from 2014. Would it make sense to make some official new version? Basically I'm trying to update the OSDK documentation with an article about profiling, I wanted to add the section from ISS about the Cycle Counter...

Re: Filepack support request

I guess I could add a better diagnostic message, but yes, basically if the end result does not compress, there's no point in packing it. Generally this happens when trying to compress already compressed files, FilePack is not designed in being the best packer, it's made to allow almost real time dep...

Re: Psycho III

That's kind of the problem of the Oric community: We have many motivated individuals, but it's more like a lose collection of people who sometimes meet here and there. I guess the CEO is most "stable" entity around regarding Oric stuff, and what was suggested requires a significant organization, wit...

Re: OricExos - making the impossible

I was wondering about the transportability of the device. To make it usable, it should probably not fall apart, and having a keyboard would probably also be a good idea. So I was wondering, why not make it in the style of the old Apple II machines. Take a Pravetz 8D, cut the bottom and and move the ...

Re: Wich scripting language for OSDK ?

Now, it will require quite a lot of work to change OSDK to be able to change existing scripts and plug a scripting engine I believe... I don't think that would require a lot of work, just some stuff on the side. At the core, in the OSDK you have separate folders for the libraries, macros, samples, ...

And I suppose having your demo played on such a huge screen overseas must be a pleasant experience
It mostly made me think that maybe I should spend a few hours here and there to see if I can't get this damn fractal and end scroller to be faster, because they are painfully slowwwwwww.
