Cool, crossdeving with basic! :D I played around with it for a while, and can now present the worlds first 64 byte intro for ORIC: http://sdw.webhop.net/tmp/64bytes.tap  Well, that's funny :) And you even have room for colors if you want ! (just add things like CHR$(nn) to set ESCAPE codes to ...

Happy to see you there :) On this page http://oric.ifrance.com/oric/emulator.html you can download an archive of tools that includes Bas2Txt and Txt2Bas . Using these two programs, you can edit BASIC programs on your pc with your favorite text editor, and then convert to a TAP file that you can load...

That sounds good :) I will not subscribe to the list, because I have really no time I can regularly spend on such projects (I know, I already miserably failed helping fabrice on Atmosfairy after I said I would...), so I prefer to be out, but just help on specific situations if it can really help lev...

Then it's probably fine to add a documentation file pointing out about where to find roms, and have roms available elsewhere ?

By the way, if you want to have a rough idea of the machines capabilities, you can check both the game database on Oric.org (you need to register to be able to see the screenshots... don't ask), and the oric demos, on pouet.net. Well, I sure want to keep the cload/csave code, it's what I use for all my small tests, using "tap2cd" to transfert programs between PC and Oric. That's the fastest way to do it. There are probably other parts of the ROM that can be removed without too much harm - like the handling of specialy forma...

Re: New member saying hi!

I do have Windows XP on a partition, but my main OS is Gentoo Linux. I'll try and get OSDK working under Wine (a Windows compatibility layer that can run many Windows programs in Linux). Otherwise I think ca65 will be adequate for me. Well, I'm in the process of trying linux on my laptop (Ubuntu 6....

Well, this definitively sounds like a good idea. I'm not an hardware guru, but sure it could be nice :) Now of course there would be the problem of operating system compatibility, and doing disk based demos that would work on microdisc as well as on C64 drives could be an interesting programming cha...

Hello there! Just wanted to make myself known. Welcome :) You are the first person to register since I changed the validation system of the forum, so I guess the change worked, because you are there, and I had no more spam/referal bots :) I never had an Oric back when, but I got one a few days ago ...

ok, have only now begun to design the map, which was a bit of a pain because space99 is circular, so more than 4 rooms are accessable from the Main mission control tower. Hum, and why not use 4 different screens for the main mission control tower, with for exemple in one corner of each screen somet...

Since PHPBB Visual Confirmation code is a piece of garbage, I decided to hack in the code. So now it still displays the Visual Confirmation code, but it asks you to enter something else. It's supposed to be the brand of the computer we are all talking about, which starts by a O and has four characte...

Re: Progress before vacations...

It is very useful not only to develop the whole map in the end, but also to see how a set of tiles work together, and quickly test new ideas or graphics. Twilighte should find this very useful to finish all the tileset for Space 1999 ! Have you put a download link somewhere for the tool so Twilight...

Re: Another progress report

I decided to move onto another topic that needs attention. As I got no feedback :( and noone volunteered to do it, I started to code a room editor for WHITE. You should consider a fact: we are in summer, and many people are in holidays :) I am also thinking about the map format, as the one I have i...
