Re: OSDK 1.14 RC

I am on Easter vacation, sorry for being quite unhelpful. As soon as I can, I will test this.

Re: OType

Scrolling the attributes will alter the colours of the ships when they are at a fixed location. About the syncing it is possible to do it, but what Dbug says is that it takes longer than the blank period to update the scroll. Probably longer than a frame time. I think I managed to scratch 7000 cycle...

Re: Oric on VGA monitors

No sure if your image is too stretched, but the original is. The Oric resolution is 240x200(+24 for the tree lines of text) instead of the usual 320x200, which gives pixels that are somewhat rectangular and ellipses instead of circles. You can emulate the Oric real aspect ratio in Oricutron with a f...

Re: OSDK 1.14 RC

Is this only related to the C compiler? Would any test with my games, which are mc only, be of any use?

Re: Oric-1 Repair

I don't know if th the PROM chip (246x4 bits) is still available (http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets2/37/3755205_1.pdf) and I seem to recall somebody asking for the contents of the chip. So, basically, I think it should be taken from another Oric, that is the bad news. The good news is that ...

Re: Opcode 52 executed at 024D

I doubt it is a problem of size... I am quite sure I've seen this before, but cannot remember where. Are you doing something strange, such as playing with irqs or something along that line?

It would help if you posted the C code...

Re: CRTC Pasta assembler

- .scope instead of .( and .) The .( and .) for scoping is probably the best feature of XA! at least for me! I use it nearly all the time as a way to delimit my functions (such as braces in C), even when I am not using local labels. Being able to use "loop" in all my loops is priceless :) That and ...

Re: Cumulus with Wifi/SD Card?

I remember I had to use a special formatting tool to make a card work. Something related to the structure (MBR being present or something along that line). In the Cumulus firmware thread there is some info... Found it: http://forum.defence-force.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1035&hilit=cumulus+sd+card&sta...

Re: Jasmin/FTDOS to Microdisc/Sedoric

C'mon guys! I can't believe nobody has information about this... Also, I wrote in another thread about Blake's 7 not running on real Jasmin (it does on emulators). I think iss had some ideas, but I could not get more tests and I don't have a Jasmin myself. Please, iss, if you had some idea about wha...

Re: Cumulus with Wifi/SD Card?

I am quite sure I posted about people using the ESP 8266 (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESP8266) chip to add wifi to 8-bit systems. The chip includes a full implementation of a TCP/IP stack and you control it using SPI. The only issue was that it needed a serial port on the host computer, which shou...

Re: John S. Sinclair on Oric.org

Same here :) Zorgons was my first game in the Oric, and I found it amazing (though time has proven there was room for improvement in gameplay). I am curious about how he faced a development such as this one, why the Oric, why not other platforms also, and what he did after these games. And I'd love ...

Re: Thoughts about WAV tapes repository

I am not sure about the benefits of storing real wavs, sure you mentioned some, but they are relates to purists and collectors. That's okay for me, of course. But for the normal user, only those tapes with strange formats that cannot be coded as Taps (protections, different encodings,...) would bene...

Re: How good (or bad) my English knowledge is? - NonRelated question

I was not going to answer, because English is not my native language, but I'll say I can understand you perfectly (besides the occasional mistakes here and there we all make). Nevertheless, I can speak about those exams including idiomatic phrases, phrasal verbs and even slang... It is quite common ...
