Re: Software ORICAID by MICROGRAF Help Archive

Regarding tape transfers, MP3 is not the way to go. The best (speaking for myself here) is recording at 44kHz, stereo, 8-bits. Stereo because having right and left channels gives two more chances to have a good recording. 44kHz and 8-bit because that's the format the conversion tools are waiting for...

Hi there,

Actually, I had the transfer done since 2012.
It's now all up on Oric.org ;)

Re: Oricutron 1.0 (EDIT: Now 1.2)

Strange I thought I posted, but my post doesn't seem to appear :? If you're looking for information about The Quill, I would suggest asking Dom50 on Oric.org. He did study in detail most of the specific tape loading routines a few years ago, and he recently studied The Quill to help him in his adven...

Re: OUM magazine scans...

On a related question, is Jonathan Haworth's excellent book, "Oric - The Story So far" available online somewhere? Or is scanning this a no-no as well? I've got version 2, updated & reprinted when the OUM was thriving. Fabirce made it available long ago, and it's still here :) http://oric.free.fr/S...

Re: OUM magazine scans...

Stupid question but I can't recall if we have Dave Dick's blessing for having all this up online?
(don't misunderstand: I'm quite happy to read all this!)

Re: OUM magazine scans...

I don't know where they came from, but I got OUM 96 and 116. 116 is quite long, not sure when I can scan it. I'll try and do 96 today but no promise - real life is taking over. (BTW, if the CEO ever decided to release the magazines some day, I do have one request before: please delete my physical (p...

Re: ORIC SDCARD

I don't care much about the case design.
But please avoid the Eiffel Tower, I see it almost every day and I don't have enough room in my small flat ;)

Re: Sedoric 4.0

Well I have already stated this, but my experience is closer to Omelette's - problems almost each and every time I used floppies. The sadest part is in a recent purchase, that contains about 5 or 6 titles I've never heared of (educational mainly), and disks directly from Fabrice Broche (author of L'...

Re: Novalight - very fast tape loading

Seems something's wrong between Pulsoids TAP version and Novalight. Bug solved, it probably affected all Novalight's versions: when a multipart program had one part beginning with a byte equal to the last byte of the previous part, this byte was encoded as a RLE repetition - but the value was wrong...

Re: Sedoric 4.0

Read in an OUM recently posted by Omelette:

So apparently this was never released.
But wouldn't it be interesting to know what update did Ray McLaghlin have in mind?

Re: Connectivity problems (again)

Ouch, got timeouts again when posting my Sea Battle hi-score :( . 1st when trying to submit the message 2nd when writing it again, I tried to attach the picture 3rd attempt was OK but took a while, I thought I'd have another timeout. Around 4:20 pm (French time) Maybe because the image server hasn't...
