Btw, the Monopoly you recently uploaded was written by my son Nick back in the day!
NICE!

Re: Launch c program with parameters

jacqu, if you figure this out, perhaps we could do a C implementation that could be plonked into the OSDK, as well? Its something I've often thought about, but never considered there wouldn't be a std arg parser in the C lib ..

Re: Upgrade Time: Encounter

It just looks so nice, Dbug, I can't wait to play it on a real Atmos. Your aesthetic treatment is very appealing - good solution on the non-paths. Hope you left some easter eggs though .. ;)

Where are these guys now?

Check out this great segment on the Oric-1 from the "80's Computer Boom (TV Eye 1983) television program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C7Me77gCmA&t=219s I wonder where these kids are now? Anyone recognize them? Their attitude about the Oric-1 is so salient and coherent .. very fun to re...

Set X / Y reg with BASIC?

Is there a way to set the X and Y regs from within BASIC? I've got this mini-assembly routine that'll do it (from Personal Computer News #81, "Plenty of Sound on Oric and Atmos"), but I'm wondering if there is some way to do it that would be compliant with the 10-LINE BASIC PROGRAMMING Com...

OSDK .tap takes a bit too long to load ..

.. for the code it contains. As part of a workshop here at the museum, I wanted to show the OSDK and C environment, which works great. The only thing I'm wondering is why this code takes so long to load .. is there a way to make the .TAP file contain *only* the regions necessary, or is the OSDK simp...

Re: Oric Atmos wanted

Holy gravy!

Well .. to contribute to the thread a little .. I've got one that I'm prepared to sell to an Oric enthusiast as long as its used for Oric purposes and not just punted on for profit .. it'll ship from Vienna, Austria, though ..

Nice additions, thanks Sy!

Randomthought: I wonder if ORIC TREK is a BASIC program and just how difficult it would be to add a glOric view, hmm ..

Re: No Problem by IRIS

This is great, looking forward to digging into the code and learning a few tricks. Makes me wonder: whats the protocol for doing a new demo? If I did one for the Oric how do I go about figuring out who to shout out to? I mean, I have my personal list of Oric Gods, but is there some sort of protocol ...

Re: Which Oric character to use for a mural?

Ah, good point about HB .. forgot about that completely. I don't mind if the character is obscure, as in Damsels, but I could also be convinced that a new-generation character could be nice (for the new-gen author as well as the museum), so I was tempted to also suggest a BLAKES or SPACE1999 composi...

Which Oric character to use for a mural?

Hi, I'm setting up to do some artwork/mural at the Retro Gaming Museum here in Vienna, Austria (https://gamingmuseum.at/) and I would like to put a sprite up above the Atmos in our display, to represent the Oric section. Which character would you use to represent the Oric, which is unique to the Ori...

Re: Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a Grand New Year and Hope for what the year holds. Some good news: we have introduced 45,000 people to retro-computing at our museum here in Vienna since we opened a few months ago, and that is a lot of Austrians (and many, many tourists) seeing the Oric Atmos in real action for the ...
